Technological advancement is generally a topic that is viewed with positive light throughout the population. Some People are naïve enough to think that advancements in technology only benefit society, whether that be by increasing efficiency or just by making life generally easier. There are many cases throughout history that refute this point though.  Take war as a general example.  Because of it, weapons capable of incredible destruction were created. Nuclear weapons being one of the first that comes to mind, not to mention the cold war which could have ended humanity as we know it.

Ten years ago, the Net was still young and barely recovering from a massive dotcom bust; no one had ever dreamed of an Internet with political pull because they were still trying to figure out how to make money from it. In the following years, websites like Myspace and Facebook started becoming even more popular with the Net Generation. The older this Internet-ingrained generation got, the more marketable the Internet became; by the end of the decade the Internet turned into a bastion of economic prosperity.

Like any other person my age, I love a song with a good beat and one that I can dance to. You may catch me singing along to a Nicki Minaj song at a party or the latest dance song by LMFAO. It’s normal and there’s nothing wrong with dancing to a good beat. However, what I’ve grown to realize is that too much of our judgment of a song is based off of its beat, and not the actual content of the song.
