Two Behrend students are heading to the NFL Combine this weekend. Junior communication major Spencer Pascuzzi and sophomore broadcast journalism major Cody Bupp are the hosts of Sports Night on BVZ Radio.

The two will head off to Indianapolis on Friday afternoon. They will have the opportunity to talk to all of the top prospects headed in the NFL Draft.

More than 300 of college’s best football players will be there including seven from Penn State. This will be their last chance to impress the NFL teams before the draft begins on April 26.

They have been studying game films for a few weeks now preparing for the Combine. They are making sure that they know everything to be able to ask the right questions. They have created a board of about 60-70 players who they are most eager to see.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the small school guys,” Pascuzzi said. “The guys who got the invite that no one really knows about.”

Bupp has a different opinion on his favorites.

“I really want to see players like Andrew Luck,” Bupp said. “It will be cool to finally see all of those big name players up close.”

Saturday will be the big day for these Behrend students. The media will have the chance to address the NFL prospects. Bupp and Pascuzzi have media passes and will get to ask the players questions personally.

They are really excited to finally be able to have their own questions answered. They know all of the statistics, but they don’t know each person.

“Getting to know the people rather than the athletes is really important,” Pascuzzi said. “These are kids that are only a year or two older than we are, and I’d like to get a more well-rounded perspective.”

The seven Penn State players are some of their top targets for the weekend. The pair is aiming to talk with all seven players because they signed up to be a part of the media and radio process as well. They’ll have a table set up so players can come and talk to them.

Pascuzzi and Bupp have been presented with a great opportunity. They will be discussing what happened and who they saw further on their radio show. They go on air on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8-10p.m.
