Penn State Family Mourns a Legend

In the wake of a scandal which resulted in the loss of his job, early on Jan. 22, former coach Joe Paterno lost his life to lung cancer. As quickly as Paterno was dismissed from his 61-year position as head coach for reasons he admittedly struggled to understand, the terminal disease spread rapidly throughout his body until his death, just 65 days following diagnosis.

Men’s basketball wins Wednesday, falls short Saturday

This week was all about overtime thrillers for the men’s basketball team. On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the men traveled to Hilbert. They walked away with a victory, 69-66. They headed to their rival, La Roche, on Saturday, Jan. 28 and left disappointed, losing 59-58.

It was a roller coaster week for the women’s basketball team. They went from domination to a struggle. On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the women went to Hilbert and owned the court, 78-43. Saturday was very different for the Lions. They headed to La Roche and left with their third conference loss, 56-42.
