Women’s swimming and diving fell to Mt. Union over the weekend by a final score of 133-82 on a non-conference match. In the 200-yard relay, the team of MaryEllen Spooner, Julie Cook, Anne Lawrence, and Hilary MacManus placed second with a time of 1:57.16. MacManus went on to an individual second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.38. Lawrence would place second with a 1:04.04 finish in the 100-yard butterfly. The final second place finish came to Spooner who posted a 1:05.90 time in the 100-yard back stoke. Freshman, Meghan Wade, would earn AMCC Diver of the week. She won both the one and three meter events with a total score of 227.80. On the other side of events, Men’s swimming and diving team would go on to defeat Mt. Union with a 129-101 combined score. The 200-yard medley saw the team of Dan Simon, Justin Pritchard, Clay Altemose, and Peter Blazak finished first with a time of 1:39.06. In an individual event, Everett Sargent and Dane Dombrosky would finish first and second in the 50-yard free style. Like Wade, Sophomore Lucas Kachurick would also place first in the one and three meter events, and was named AMCC Diver of the Week. Both teams will be back in action on Saturday for the Blue/White meet at 1 p.m. February, 16 will start the AMCC Conference Championships. |
